St. Felix Liturgical & Sacrament Commission
The Liturgy & Sacrament Commission assists Father and the Director of Music in the conduct of the parish’s liturgical and devotional life. The Commission reviews the liturgical and devotional needs of each of the main liturgical seasons, and assists in the recruitment, training and ongoing formation of liturgical ministers. It also conducts an ongoing assessment of the parish’s liturgical life. The Committee assists the priest in ensuring that the quality of our liturgy is worthy of the mysteries that we celebrate.

Liturgy
Each week Catholics from around the area come to worship on the Lord’s Day and Holy Days at St. Agnes and St. Felix Catholic Churches. Some people serve as Liturgical Ministers to help faciltate the assemblies during the liturgies. Their ministry touches all who come to worship at our parishes and assist the faith community in its public communal prayer as we join the endless prayer of thanksgiving in union with the whole Church. If you have any questions, concerns, or comments regarding Liturgy or are interested in becoming a Liturgical Minister please feel free to contact the Parish Ofiice at 651-565-3931.
Environment/Church Decoration Ministry
Create an aesthetic context for the celebration of liturgy by using visuals, scents, sounds, and arrangement of space.
Extraordinary Ministers of Eucharist
Distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to members of the Eucharistic Assembly.
Bring Holy Communion to those unable to attend Mass.
To proclaim the Scripture readings at weekend, weekday and special liturgies.
Music Ministry (Adult and Child)
To accompany the assembly in prayerful song.
Prepare the church (candles, lights, sound system, etc.) all liturgical vessels, and the sanctuary prior to each Mass, i.e. daily, weekend and special liturgical celebrations.
Assist the Priest at Holy Mass and at other liturgical celebrations (weddings, benediction, vespers, etc.).
Assist the Priest in welcoming members and visitors to the Holy Mass, taking up the collection and passing out bulletins at the end of Mass.
Sacraments
A sacrament is a sacred action, initiated by God in Christ, which brings us closer to one another and to God who is present for us. In a sacrament, which is an official action of the church, Christians assemble to celebrate in symbol and sign their lived experience and to connect their common story with that of Jesus.
The Sacrament of Baptism is the first of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist). In Baptism, God cleanses a person from all sin and welcomes that person into the Church, the community of Christ’s disciples, so that, through active participation in the life of the Church, the baptized comes to experience the fullness of God’s grace and love.
Baptism of adults comes at the conclusion of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). Baptism of children 7 or older comes at the conclusion of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults adapted for Children. Baptism of infants comes when parents and godparents, themselves active and participating members of a parish, ask for the sacrament on behalf of their child.
Pre-Jordan Class is required as preparation for first Baptisms. Contact the Parish Office at 651-565-3931 at least 6 weeks in advance.
The Sacrament of Confirmation ‘seals’ the graces of baptism and further strengthens a person for a life of Christian witness in their homes, schools, places of work and in their community.
Young people are confirmed in the 11th grade after a two-year preparation program. For further information, please call the Faith Formation Office at 651-565-3718
The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper is the source and summit of Christian life. Young people receive the Eucharist after completing the sacramental preparation process. Parental involvement at various levels of this two-year process is required.
Adults are admitted to Eucharist after completing the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). For information about the RCIA, please contact the Parish Office at 651-565-3931
The Sacrament of Reconciliation (sometimes called ‘Penance’ or ‘confession’) celebrates the mercy of God. Catholics are encouraged to celebrate this sacrament regularly, acknowledging God’s mercy and their own commitment to a life of conversion, daily putting on the mind and heart of Christ. Young people receive Eucharist after being prepared for this sacrament.
Preparing for your marriage is a six-month process, so please keep that in mind when you contact Father Frerichs to set a date and begin the preparation. Preparing for your Marriage includes your meeting with Father, a PreCana weekend and working with our marriage mentors. Please keep in mind that we are unable to set a date for the wedding until after the couple has met with Father. Marriage Prep Checklist - Marriage Prep Guidelines - other marriage information.
Because marriage in the Catholic Church is a sacrament, it is a community as well as a personal celebration. Catholics should be married in their parish church or receive their pastor’s permission to be married elsewhere. The Protection of Marriage: A Shared Commitment
If you are not a member we would like to invite you to become a member before we begin the marriage preparation process. We invite you to register as a member here, and you can do this by visiting the parish office during office hours.
Persons who are seriously ill or scheduled for serious medical procedures should receive the sacrament. This can be celebrated at any of the daily Masses or the priests are glad to come to your home. Persons already hospitalized should ask the hospital pastoral care staff to contact one of the priests of the parish.
Those in danger of death should make arrangements to be anointed and receive Holy Communion. The Sacrament of the Sick can be received as often as one’s physical or mental condition warrants.
